Strait Gate

And JESUS CHRIST went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.

Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.

But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.

And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last. (Luke 13:22-30 KJV - my emphasis)

A Porta Estreita

E percorria as cidades e as aldeias, ensinando, e caminhando para Jerusalém.

E disse-lhe um: Senhor, são poucos os que se salvam? E ele lhe respondeu:

Porfiai por entrar pela porta estreita; porque eu vos digo que muitos procurarão entrar, e não poderão.

Quando o pai de família se levantar e cerrar a porta, e começardes, de fora, a bater à porta, dizendo: Senhor, SENHOR, abre-nos; e, respondendo ele, vos disser: Não sei de onde vós sois;

Então começareis a dizer: Temos comido e bebido na tua presença, e tu tens ensinado nas nossas ruas.

E ele vos responderá: Digo-vos que não sei de onde vós sois; apartai-vos de mim, vós todos os que praticais a iniqüidade.

Ali haverá choro e ranger de dentes, quando virdes Abraão, e Isaque, e Jacó, e todos os profetas no reino de Deus, e vós lançados fora.

E virão do oriente, e do ocidente, e do norte, e do sul, e assentar-se-ão à mesa no reino de Deus.

E eis que derradeiros há que serão os primeiros; e primeiros há que serão os derradeiros.(Lucas 13:22-30 ACF - grifos meus)

EIS QUE VENHO SEM DEMORA, E O MEU GALARDÃO ESTÁ COMIGO, PARA DAR A CADA UM SEGUNDO A SUA OBRA!

SCHOOL OF ETIQUETTE!!!!

When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor {thy} rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.(Luke 14:12-14 KJV)

ESCOLA DE ETIQUETA!!!!

Quando deres um jantar, ou uma ceia, não chames os teus amigos, nem os teus irmãos, nem os teus parentes, nem vizinhos ricos, para que não suceda que também eles te tornem a convidar, e te seja isso recompensado. Mas, quando fizeres convite, chama os pobres, aleijados, mancos e cegos, E serás bem-aventurado; porque eles não têm com que to recompensar; mas recompensado te será na ressurreição dos justos.(Lucas 14:12-14 ACF)

Nunca homem algum falou assim como este homem!

E no último dia, o grande dia da festa, Jesus pôs-se em pé, e clamou, dizendo: Se alguém tem sede, venha a mim, e beba. Quem crê em mim, como diz a Escritura, rios de água viva correrão do seu ventre. E isto disse ele do Espírito que haviam de receber os que nele cressem; porque o Espírito Santo ainda não fora dado, por ainda Jesus não ter sido glorificado. Então muitos da multidão, ouvindo esta palavra, diziam: Verdadeiramente este é o Profeta. Outros diziam: Este é o Cristo; mas diziam outros: Vem, pois, o Cristo da Galiléia? Não diz a Escritura que o Cristo vem da descendência de Davi, e de Belém, da aldeia de onde era Davi? Assim entre o povo havia dissensão por causa dele. E alguns deles queriam prendê-lo, mas ninguém lançou mão dele. E os servidores foram ter com os principais dos sacerdotes e fariseus; e eles lhes perguntaram: Por que não o trouxestes? Responderam os servidores: Nunca homem algum falou assim como este homem.(João 7:37-46 ACF)
